There have been numerous rumours about Arsene Wenger leaving Arsenal. However, The Gunners manager says he will wait and analyse his current team before settling on his final choice.
Numerous fans have been questioning the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger for his strange playing style as well as game tactics. Arsenal hasn’t been able to perform to their full strength and has ended up most matches with just 1 point in hand.
People are consistently criticising this manager for his playing style and are even claiming him to be a ‘roadblock’ to Arsenal’s success. There were recent rumours of this manager leaving Arsenal after his contract worth 8 million pounds expires this season.
However recently when asked about his move away from the team, the manager has stated that he will not settle on a final choice up until April and will first analyse his current team’s performance this season.
This English manager has also admitted having a new two-year deal on the table, however, is in no hurry to sign the contract which will extend his stay at Arsenal.
Speaking in an interview, this 67-year-old manager said ““I always said that I will judge where I stand in spring and make my decisions then. And the club is free as well. It’s not because I am here a long time that I have any rights. We are both in the same boat.”
Arsene Wenger was appointed the manager of Arsenal back in the year 1996 and has given more than 20 years to the club; his commitment is one thing which surely cannot be questioned.
Talking further about his choice to stay or leave Arsenal he says “The club are happy and it will not affect planning. There are plenty of managers who arrived at the end of their contract. It happened to me before. I signed sometimes in March, April for longer contracts. So I don’t think it’s a problem.
“I worked everywhere I was until the last day of my contract with total commitment. That’s why maybe I can go back everywhere I was because people respect that.”
Arsene Wenger’s last contract with Arsenal ended back in 2014, and he didn’t sign a new one until Arsenal won the FA cup.
While The Gunners are confident that Wenger will stay at Arsenal, fans are eager to see if their star players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez do sign a new contract. With Ozil aiming to move back to Real Madrid and Sanchez demanding twice his current weekly wage, it would be interesting to see if 2017 brings a stronger Arsenal or weakens them to their very core.
