Mikel Arteta expressed his biggest concern as Arsenal continued Aubameyang drop- off

Mikel Arteta’s side has faced another 2-1 miserable defeat to Wolves at home on Sunday evening. The 2-1 Premier League defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers was Arsenal’s fifth Premier League loss of this season. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta admits his biggest concern is the alarming slump of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in their recent fixtures.

Arsenal once again witnesses Pierre Emerick Aubameyamg woes at Emirates on Sunday. When Arsenal 31-year old top scorer failed to give any contribution in the clash with Wolves. However, Mikel Arteta is wary about his recent form in front of the goal as it is important for Arsenal to get back Aubameyamg real and energetic form in order to assure the win.

Arsenal has played around 10 Premier League games and already lost five of them. This means that Arteta and his men struggled for a good start and are still striving for their best form with the most central cause being their attacking line.

However, Arsenal has most importantly witnessed something. The continuous drop in Aubameyang’s performance along with the successive home defeats. The talisman alarming slump became the most discussed points following the defeat. Arsenal captain was spotted making unsuccessful attempts in the defeat.

Arteta is determined to push Pierre Emerick Aubameyang to that extent where he can help him revive his best form. The Spaniard shares a friendly relationship with the Gabon international. And he has admitted that Aubameyang goalscoring is very important to Arsenal. Following the 2-1 defeat to Wolves. He also claimed that the rest of the team would have to find a way to get him back in action.

During the Wolves clash, Arsenal captain could only take five blank shots and nine touches in the penalty area of Wolves. But only one of them was on point.

When looking towards Aubameyang Premier league stats of this season. Arsenal’s top scorer hasn’t scored in an open play for Arsenal since the campaign started in September. Where Arsenal had an easy 3-0 win against Fulham on Sunday.

Another goal from the forward was seen when he took the penalty which gives Arsenal a win over Manchester United in early November. But the concern started growing when Aubameyang’s goals on point started facing a downfall.

When Mikel Arteta was asked if he is worried about Aubameyang’s recent performances. He admitted that he is very much concerned about Aubameyang not scoring goals. He mentioned that every member of the club is worried and trying to figure out how to help him score goals. As the club is in need of his goals.

In the last two years, Aubameyang has been very important to the club and his importance among the squad is shared via goal sheet. He also said for Arsenal to be successful, Gabon forward has to score goals.

If one takes a look at his scoring sheet then In his debut season with Arsenal Aubameyang alone was a contributor of 22 goals among Arsenals 73 in total. Furthermore, in the previous season, he fired another 22 in Arsenal’s 56 in total. But in the current campaign, he could only scores twice in all his 10 Premier League outings.

Out of all the recent seasons, one can say in this season Arsenal has made the slowest of start. Since their last similar start and goal stats in 1981. The Gunners could only score 13 in their ten league outings that itself signal towards their dull start. Currently, the Gunners sits at 14th in the League table and only the bottom four teams have scored fewer goals than Arsenal.
