The Belgian winger has been suspended from Dalian Yifang training.
The Gunners are strongly linked with a move for Dalian Yifang winger Yannick Carrasco this summer and as per the rumours the 25-year old is set to make an exit from China.
The club has been previously linked with the Belgian winger before he opted to make a move for Dalian Yifang. And now again after heavy speculation, Carrasco is linked with a move to Arsenal.
Yannick Carrasco has been banned from the Chinese Super League club’s training and imposed with a fine as speculation over his future intensifies.
The suspension has been triggered due to his recent behaviour as stated by the Chinese Super League club. A notice for Belgian winger has been issued by the club and is being ordered to pay the fine for his recent behaviour.
Yannick Carrasco joined Ligue 1 club Monaco from Genk in 2010, before spending three years at Atletico Madrid under Diego Simeone, during which he scored the equalizing goal in the 2016 Champions League final against city rivals Real Madrid.
Simeone’s side went on to lose the match on penalties in a match where Carrasco became the first Belgian to score in a European Cup final.
During the January transfer window in 2018 a lot of speculation surrounded his future and Arsenal came close towards securing his services but Carrasco and his team-mate Nicolas Gaitan made the switch to Dalian Yifang.
Gaitan then joined MLS side Chicago Fire earlier this year and according to Carrasco’s latest behaviour, he could be next player exiting the club, with Arsenal once again reportedly interested in his signature.
Unai Emery side is in much favour to land Carrasco, this is a move that might turn his head as already Belgian winger is accused of failing to apply himself in the recent training session.
Yifang goalkeeper Yu Ziqian has also been penalized for his role in the situation, in which he took to social media to claim that the Arsenal target refused to play in a Chinese Super League match and additionally failed to fully commit himself in recent training sessions.
The player tweeted regarding the claim by his fellow team mate.
Ziqian was also hit with a suspension and fines, along with a statement released by the club saying he had violated the “regulations on team news management” by releasing “information through social media, causing adverse effects.”
Regarding the behaviour of both the players, Dalian Yifang expressed that
“Our club have always attached importance to the construction of the team, and no individual can override the collective. The club treats everyone equally. Anyone who goes beyond the team rules and the ‘red line’ managed by the club will be treated seriously and will not be tolerated.”
Carrasco missed training as well as a match and is called upon to return to the club within three days while he has been imposed with a suspension and fine. Arsenal are in the market for a winger and there were times when he has shown flashes of his ability. At times like this, he will soon return to Europe.
