Ashes 2021-22: The Ashes series is going to begin in around two months. This is the largest festival of cricket which also comes with a certain heritage.
However, the past couple of months have not been very good in the host country. Australia has seen a massive rising in COVID-19 cases especially in their urban areas. This has prompted stricter action from the government.
Moreover, various COVID-19 related restrictions are still going in Australia. Some of the biggest cities of the country like Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane have been under lockdown for a very long time. And no other city has seen such a strict lockdown.
Eventually, due to these challenging restrictions, there were rumours that England could back out of Ashes. And certain reports suggest that the England Cricket Board (ECB) was thinking about the possibilities of such a decision.
Moreover, when team India went to Australia for a three format series. The restrictions hurt the players who found it very tough in a bio bubble.
Team India was forced to quarantine before playing the Brisbane test where they historically won it later on. Every effort and hard work of the Indian players paid off in style.
But the conditions have drastically improved in the U.K. Moreover, the Boris Johnson-led government had eased the COVID-19 related restrictions in July itself. And no visiting team has been forced to play under a bio bubble.

Ashes 2021-22: James Anderson hits back at Tim Paine
However, James Anderson is not the person who is going to listen to the banter. The England fast bowler was quick to hit back at Tim Paine and his utterly ridiculous and irresponsible banter towards the English team.
James Anderson said “It is dangerous to start talking like that, especially when we already have one player missing because he is looking after his mental health. I get it that this is an Ashes series and we are going to have this bit of pantomime stuff away from the cricket, but let’s keep it respectable.”
Moreover, Jimmy also gave the example of Ben Stokes who is dealing with mental health issues. He hit back at Tim Paine and went on to remind the sensitive situation revolving around mental health and bio bubble fatigue.
However, the ECB has announced their England squad for the Ashes 2021-22 series. Moreover, they also confirmed that they will be travelling to Australia for the series and they would not abandon it.
