Asia Cup 2022: The United Arab Emirates will host the Asia Cup 2022 from August 27 to September 11. (UAE). Five full-time teams and one associate team will each field a team in the competition.

He did this while playing for 25 different Sri Lankan squads between 1990 and 2008. The Sri Lankan legend’s record has been unbroken since the 2008 competition in Pakistan. But it may be surpassed this time.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, two of India’s greatest batsmen, are contenders to shatter this record. Kohli managed to score 766 runs from 2010 to 2016 compared to Rohit’s 883 runs across the Asia Cup’s 2008 and 2018 editions. Sanath Jayasuriya may be overthrown from this elite ranking if one or both of them break his record.
2. Lasith Malinga’s Record For Taking Most Wickets
Before being topped by his countryman and top pacer Lasith Malinga with 33 wickets (29 ODIs + four T20I), Sri Lankan spinner Muttiah Muralidaran had 30 scalps to his name from 24 matches at an economy rate of 3.75.
Malinga still holds this esteemed record but Shakib Al Hasan and Ravindra Jadeja are in the running. They may break the record in the forthcoming Asian tournament.
With a successful 2022 edition, either one or both of these southpaws will top the statistics as the most wicket-takers in Asia Cup history. Moreover, Shakib already has 24 scalps across the 2010 and 2018 editions with 22 wickets.
3. Shakib Al Hasan Can Advance On the List of All-Rounders
Players like Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya, Shahid Afridi, and Shakib Al Hasan are among those who have scored over 300 runs and taken 15 or more wickets in Asia Cup matches before 2022. It is difficult to top Sachin and Jayasuriya’s batting records in this event. Even though Shakib may have more wickets than all of them combined but they were better batters.
Shakib cannot beat the great Sri Lankan all-rounder and the Master Blaster since he is far behind them with 1220 and 971 runs, respectively. Between 2010 and 2018, the southpaw only managed 402 runs, including three half-centuries.
