Aston Villa has sacked their manager Steven Gerrard, after a poor start this season. But things are about to get worse, as the club has missed out on all the big-name managers. The recent addition to that list is Thomas Tuchel.

Reports suggest Thomas Tuchel has no interest to join the Villa side. Aston Villa sacked Steven Gerrard after a thrashing 3-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage. Right now, they are 17th in the English Premier League table just above the relegation zone because of goal difference.

Chief executive Christian Purslow, the man who hired Gerrard last year, said: “The process of appointing a new head coach is underway and we will update supporters as soon as possible.”

Mauricio Pochettino was also on the shortlist of the Villa, but he refused to join the club. QPR boss Michael Beale, Brentford manager Thomas Frank and free agent Sean Dyche are also on this list to take over the managerial role.

Getting Tuchel would be a massive thing for Villa, as he secured 10 trophies in his tenures at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Borussia Dortmund. These trophies include Ligue 1 titles and the Champions League. He also achieved FIFA’s Best Football Coach last year.

Pochettino also fits into the Villa project. He transformed a struggling Spurs side into a dominant force in Europe. He helped the North London club to reach the Champions League and League Cup finals. He also secured to finish second in the Premier League once.
