Chelsea youngster on loan at Aston Villa says that this teammate has the potential to be as good as the Belgian winger.
Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham is on loan at Aston Villa in the championship, after spending the previous year with Swansea. The 21 year old has been really impressive for Villa and is their leading scorer this season with 11 goals in 15 appearances. Abraham’s teammate at Villa, Jack Grealish has been in great form as well.
The 22-year-old was targeted by Chelsea’s rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, but Grealish decided to stay with Villa by extending his stay till 2023. Tammy Abraham likened Grealish’s playing style to that of Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard.
“Playing with, I’d go for Eden Hazard,” Abraham told club website.
“He’s just so clever. Jack Grealish reminds me of him, actually – it’s the way they effortlessly dribble and use their body so very well. They are so tough to tackle – one minute you think you’ve got the ball and then they put their body in there so quickly.
“He’s so smart. He has a low centre of gravity, turns rapidly, gets goals and assists for fun. Those kind of players are ‘one in a lifetime’. Abraham further went on and talked about the best players that he has played against.
“The best player I’ve played against is Neymar. He’s so exciting to watch, I remember being on the halfway line with him and I was just starstruck watching him – I was supposed to be tackling him!
“If we’re talking about defenders I’ve played against, I’d go for Mats Hummels. His experience is fantastic. He’s not the quickest but he’s always in the right place at the right time – his timing is impeccable. He’s so, so smart.”
Grealish has always had great potential ever since he first broke onto the scene a few years back. It is only a matter of time before some big club poaches him away from Villa.
