At His New Team Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso Is Already ‘100 Percent Plus’ Satisfied

Fernando Alonso spent his first day as the company’s new driver during the year-end tire test, and the Spaniard is ecstatic to be working with his new team, Aston Martin. The Spaniard joined Alpine for the 2022 campaign but has since switched to Aston Martin. Fernando Alonso explained the following to RacingNews365.com:

“Compared to when I signed with Aston Martin, I’m considerably more hopeful now. I was 90% content, but as they started to become better and completed the season strongly, I was 100%.”

“I felt perfect this morning—plus 100 percent. The energy I’m experiencing right now in the garage with the men, the team’s potential, and the skill I can already see in the engineering room is incredible. I am therefore really delighted.”

Fernando Alonso also made fun of his previous workplace Alpine. The driver made reference to how the Mercedes engine in the Aston Martin outperformed the Renault engine in Alpine’s norms. He stated:

“I was worried when they informed me of the engine’s mileage last night since I remarked that figure is so high by my standards.”

“But we completed 97 laps without incident. This morning as we went into the garage together, we noticed the green automobile. We both agreed that this is exactly what Jaguar did in 2002, yet there is no doubt that this initiative is entirely different.”

Fernando Alonso (81) placed ninth at the season’s finish.

“Everything is delightfully surprising me”, says Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso has expressed his delight in all he has observed at Aston Martin. Even though a few minor tweaks needed to be made, everything has gone well. He stated:

“We must take a seat. Now I have to mentally go through all I felt. There are minor issues, and the majority of them are comfort-related; the balance or the car’s behavior isn’t really an issue.”

“Although I was pleasantly impressed by everything, the car we are running this year is not even close to what we will run in the future. There wasn’t much to feel confident about or anything of the kind. It’s not like this automobile will continue to be produced (for the next year).”
