Australian Coach goes wild after the swimmer clinches Olympics Gold

Australian swimmer Ariarne Titmus defeated her American arch rival Katie Ledecky in the thrilling Women’s 400m freestyle swimming at Tokyo Olympics this afternoon. As a result her coach, Dean Boxall was ecstatic. His reaction says it all.

Screaming Boxall roared about in the stands. He was jumping around, shouting, kicking and shaking the fences. He even tore his mask off as he was celebrating. Boxall was so wild that the an official staff member of the games tried to calm him down.

5 times Olympic Gold and 2 times Silver medalist Katie Ledecky is a force to be reckoned with, when it comes to women’s swimming. The most decorated female swimmer in history was up against Australian Ariarne Titmus.

The highly anticipated matchup was bound to be interesting and thrilling and it did not disappoint. The American swimmer had an early lead of about half a second at about 150m mark. And she was doing her best to widen the distance.

That is when Titmus let loose and there was no coming back from it. Titmus swam stroke after stroke and ended up stealing the lead with just 50m of the race left.

She eventually ended up defeating the world record holder with a lead of 0.67 seconds. Titmus’s reaction time was also not quite the level of Ledecky but she ended up overcoming it with the help of her powerful strokes.
