The ongoing edition of the LPL has been well and truly entertaining and thrilling at the same time. There were countless moments that kept the fans at the edge of their seats. Not a long ago, Andre Russell smashed the fastest fifty in the LPL.

The Caribbean achieved the feat in just 14 balls, which is the third-joint-fastest fifty in the tournament. Then the tourney saw many cliffhangers as well. There were high scoring encounters and above all, there was a great sense of competition among the teams.

So far, Dambulla Viiking dominated the points table by securing the first position with 11 points. Colombo Kings follow next on the list with 10 points. Jaffna Stallions are third on the points table with 9 points, Kandy Tuskers secured 4 points. Galle Gladiators find themselves in troubled waters as they are languishing at the bottom of the points table.

They managed to win just 1 game and lost 6 games in the process. The bottom-placed side secured only 2 points. They are playing against Kandy Tuskers in the 19th game of the LPL. They are certain to win this game and the victory would take them to the fourth spot.

During the match between Colombo Kings and Galle Gladiators, a hilarious incident unfirled. Azam Khan and Danushka Gunathilaka were involved in an extremely hilarious incident in the ongoing edition of the Lankan Premier League.

Gladiators’ Lakshan tried to deliver the ball to Russell, it turned to be a huge wide delivery. In fact, the wicket-keeper himself got confused and fell off his feet while trying to stop the ball.

The wicketkeeper Azam Khan stretched his hand to stop the ball. After a hilarious turn of events, Gunathilaka hit the ball on Azma’s helmet to mock him.

Galle Gladiators win by 8 wickets

Colombo Kings captain Angelo Matthews won the toss and elected to bat first. They posted 171 for the loss of 10 wickets in their allotted quota of 20 overs. D Bell Drummond was the pick of the batsmen as he scored 44 off 36 balls including 3 fours and a six.

Dinesh Chandimal chipped in with 35 off 20 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes. T de Silva and Udana scored 27 and 21 runs respectively. Mohammad Amir was the pick of the bowlers for Galle Gladiators as he picked up a fifer, giving away just 26 runs in his spell of 4 overs.

Sandakan also bowled really well for Gladiators as he picked up 3 wickets to his name. In reply, Colombo Kings chased down the target in 17.3 overs. They scored 175 for the loss of 2 wickets.

Ahsan Ali was the star of the batting line-up as he scored 56 off 38 balls including 9 fours and a six. Danushka Gunathilaka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 38 and 37 runs respectively.

Azam Khan also played quite well. He scored 16-ball-35 including 3 fours and 3 sixes to his counter-punching techniques. Qais Ahmed and Dhammika Prasad picked up a wicket each.
