Liverpool has had one heck of a season so far in the ongoing edition of the English Premier League. Despite being slapped with a 7-2 defeat at the hands of Aston Villa, they picked up the pace and delivered good wins when it mattered the most.
Currently, they are on top of the points table with 33 points. The Reds secured 9 wins, lost twice, and played out 6 draws so far in the season. Their Merseyside rivals Manchester United are second on the table with the same 33 points but are below due to goal difference.
In fact, Ole Gunnar’s team played a game less than their rivals. They will take on Burnley in the next game and a convincing win against them in the away fixture will help them take to the numero uno spot in the table.
On the other hand, Liverpool will lock horns with their rivals Man United in their next EPL fixture. The Red will invite the Red Devils at Anfield on January 17, Sunday.
Lot of players do not want to join Liverpool: Fabrizio
Liverpool has been trying all their luck by making use of available players this season and only time will tell as to how they will approach the remaining fixture of EPL.
Meanwhile, Italian popular journalist Fabrizio Romano came up with shocking news for Liverpool fans. The journalist firmly believes that many players do not wish to join the Reds in this winter transfer window for one season alone.
It is cognizance of the fact that Klopp’s team is currently facing several injuries. The Italian journalist went on to add saying that many players have zero interest in playing only certain games as they will be warming the bench when the injured ones return in full swing.
Romano also stated that the Reds are considering sticking with the available players rather than roping in players in January. “A lot of players now don’t want to join Liverpool [and] play 5, 6, 7 matches.
“Then the big ones are coming back from their injuries and then [the new signings] are on the bench for one season or more,” the Italian journalist told the Here We Go podcast, as quoted by This Is Futbol.
Romano also further stated saying that Liverpool will try their best to players if possible else they will stick with the current batch itself. “So, at the moment, Liverpool are still with the same idea: ‘We can stay with this team. If we have an opportunity, OK. If we don’t, we stay with this one’.”
