Barcelona are reportedly interested in Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi and have taken a step forward towards signing him.
Sensi has already become a key player under Antonio Conte since arriving at the San Siro in the summer transfer window. The 24 year old’s impressive performances so far in the season have brought him under the radar of Barcelona, who have already made initial contacts with the Serie A Giants as well as the player’s agents to sign him at the end of the season.
Sensi is currently on a season long loan from Sassuolo but Inter have the option retaining the Italian international for a fee of €25M at the end of the campaign. Antonio Conte has already told his directors that he wants him in his squad the next few years and Inter are more than likely to make the move a permanent one in 2020.
The purchase option however does not offer any preference to the Serie A side with Barcelona already probing his arrival at the Camp Nou. The go ahead to initiate contact with the young Italian midfielder was reportedly given after an agreement between Ernesto Valverde and the sporting director of Barcelona.
The Catalan club’s negotiations are expected to pass through the option of Ivan Rakitic who looks all set for a departure from the Camp Nou. Inter seems to be his most likely destination although the deal is a still long way from accomplishment. The clubs could strike a deal which would allow the Rakitic to join Inter with Barcelona making a move for Sensi in the summer.
