Jadon Sancho is a young talented lad who plays for Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old has followed up his league-leading tally of 14 assists last season.
He has scored a total of 15 goals in his 49 appearances for the Dortmund.
Borussia Dortmund winger admitted that he might join the Premier League or La Liga in the future. But he insisted that he doesn’t consider media reports linking him to various clubs.
From England to Germany
Jadon Sancho was part of the Manchester City youth team before he chose to move to Dortmund. He refused to sign a contract extension with the English club. Considering that he did not have a clear path to the first-team.
Sancho left English football back in 2017, turning down a record contract for an academy player when Man City offered him £30,000 a week to stay.
The former English youth player broke into the first team at Dortmund. He quickly became European football’s one of the best youngsters.
Sancho’s thoughts on playing abroad
Since his move to Germany, Sancho has been making the headlines with his performances. But recently Sancho has suggested that he would not mind moving to England or Spain in the future.
In a recent interview, Sancho said, “I can’t tell the future but I wouldn’t mind. La Liga I wouldn’t mind also, but we don’t know yet. I am just happy that I’m playing and that’s the main thing. I’m just helping my team and learning every day when I’m on the pitch.
He further added, “I feel that every league is very competitive. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world, everyone knows that.”
The winger also revealed that he does not take notice of all the media reports. Which link him to various top clubs around Europe.
He said, “I don’t really try to take notice of all the media. I just try to stay focused on my game. Obviously being in Germany has taken off the pressure of the media and I think that’s really helping me a lot and keeping me focused,”
Dortmund on Sancho’s transfer
Dortmund has so far managed to brush off the attentions of Europe’s top clubs. CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that he had been approached at least one of ‘top tier clubs’.
The bid was strongly refused by the club. Although Watzke understands that Sancho’s time at the club must come to an end.
In a recent interview, he said, “There aren’t many 19-year-olds with such potential. He is also not a player from the region or one who would have any connection to it. When you have a player like Jadon Sancho, you must reassess the situation every single year. Everything else would not be honest. If a foreign player is not convinced that the club is right for him at the exact time, it just does not make any sense.”
United’s Interest in Sancho
It is still unknown what holds for Jadon Sancho. But if the player does decide to move, then he can be sure that there would be a number of clubs lining up for his services. Manchester United are reportedly ready to renew their interest next summer.
Jadon Sancho has recently signed a new contract in Germany. It is worth nearly £200,000 a week but he did not extend his current deal, which still expires in 2022.
