Both Barcelona and Manchester United are after the Serie A superstar but it looks like he has rejected them once again, revealing that he doesn’t want a move.
Barcelona aren’t in the best form at the moment and are winles in their last four LA Liga games, with not even Lionel Messi able to help them get out of this mess. While they did beat Tottenham 4-2 in the Champions League, it’s the two goals that they conceded during that clash that has left manager Ernesto Valverde very concerned. Not to mention that Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermalen are injured once again, and Gerard Pique is struggling to keep up with his aging knees.
Manchester United on the other hand, the whole world knows how well they are doing. If rumors are to believed then Jose Mourinho’s time at the club is slowly winding down, in a very ugly way with him falling out with superstar Paul Pogba and even the club’s board. Not only that the Red Devils have struggled this season both offensively and defensively but it’s been their defense that have had issues ever since the start of the season.
Jose Mourinho has struggled to find the right partnership despite having the likes of Eric Bailiy, Victor Lindelof, Phil Jones, and Chris Smalling among others to choose from. That’s why both sides have targeted Inter Milan star Milan Skriniar with the Slovakian doing extremely well for the Serie A giants both last season and even so far in this season.
However, while Skriniar has been chased by Europe’s biggest sides but the 23 year old doesn’t want to leave the San Siro side anytime soon. In an interview, Skriniar revealed “I’m not interested in Barcelona. I’m playing for Inter and my goal is to keep playing here.
I have never been contacted by Guardiola, Mourinho or Valverde, so they are all just rumours. If I stayed at Inter my whole life, I would be happy. Inter are a great club and we are coming out of the crisis, I have found great confidence at Inter and not only as a player, but also as a man.”
It’s good to see that Milan Skriniar wants to stay at the San Siro and given the clubs that are interested in him, it very surprising. However, if he does want a move in the near future, maybe as of right now he should try and establish himself as one of the best defenders in the world.
