Barcelona Monitoring Diogo Costa

According to a report from the Spanish outlet, Fichajes, FC Barcelona are interested to bring in Diogo Costa in the summer of 2023.
The Blaugrana made a major overhaul to their squad last the start of this season. They signed players like Robert Lewandowski, Raphinmha, Jules Kounde, Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, Marcos Alonso, and Hector Bellerin.
The summer signings have mostly settled down well and Barcelona have got a good start to their La Liga season. The Blaugrana have won nine of their first eleven matches. With twenty-eight points, they are currently in second place behind defending champions Real Madrid.
Their transition however is still not complete. The Blaugrana have got only four points from their five UEFA Champions League matches. They are already relegated to the Europa League. Hence Barcelona management are looking to sign more players to build a stronger team.
After two below-par seasons, Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been one of the best players for Barcelona so far. However, even then there have been a few errors that he has committed in the recent past. He is also going to be 31 at the end of the season.
So Barcelona are looking at a few goalkeepers who can be the long-term successor for the German international. Diego Costa is currently one of the best youngsters in the world. He is already getting monitored by teams like Manchester United and Juventus.
The Portuguese goalkeeper has a contract with Porto that runs until the 2026 season. His signing is going to cost Barcelona a lot. However, they have shown their desire in rebuilding a formidable team. So Xavi’s team might just land the youngster next summer.
In his current form, Diogo Costa is surely going to be the starter for Portugal in the upcoming Qatar World Cup 2022. Good performance in the perennial event will take his stocks higher.
