Barcelona couldn’t sign these two Brazillian’s this summer

Barcelona is trying its best to land some of the best players around to make their squad as strong as they can. Barcelona signed some top players this summer transfer like Atletico’s centerman Antoine Griezmann for £108 million, Valencia’s goalkeeper Neto for £23.40 million and Ajax’s Frenkie De Jong for £67.50 million.

Neymar’s Saga

While Barcelona was negotiating for the return of Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain. A 27-year-old Brazilian attacker was offered to the Catalans, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The La Liga champions made several offers to PSG. The offers included high cash bids plus a range of players in exchange for the Brazil international.

Neymar has been linked to Barcelona from the beginning of the transfer window. He did not see a return to his former club this summer. It could have happened for a record transfer amount. There are were business issues that Barcelona had to fix.

It was a complicated move as the Blaugrana had already spent around 225 million euros on De Jong, Greizmann, Neto and Cucurella. The additional amount of Neymar which is around 170-200 million euros could lead to a deficit of 400 million euros. It is against the rule of FIFA as they claim that ‘the difference between spending and sales on transfers cannot exceed 100 million euros’.This means that Barcelona has to rake up 300 million euros in transfer between now and June 30, 2020.

But as Phillipe Coutinho has been loaned out to Bayern and Malcolm transferred to Zenit it looks that Barcelona has recovered a certain amount. The fans had a tremendous wait through the transfer window just to find out the Brazilian is not going to return.

Barcelona’s top signings this summer like Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid and Frenkie De Jong from Ajax were frustrated in the club’s chase of Neymar.

Moura’s Bid

Moura was the second choice for Barcelona as they looked to recruit a forward player. According to Mundo Deportivo, when a Neymar deal was off the table. Barcelona turned their attention to the Spurs man.

Tottenham Hotspur offered Lucas Moura to the Catalans for more than €50 million. But Barcelona rejected the proposal. The reason was that the price set was too high for the Brazilian.

Neymar’s Transfer Saga to continue in 2020?
