La Liga giants Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Brazilian fullback Caio Henrique from Ligue 1 side Monaco.

Caio Henqriue started his football journey at the academy of Santos. The fullback spent eight years in the Santos academy before joining Atletico Madrid’s youth ranks.

Caio Henrique played two seasons with Atletico Madrid’s reserve team and could manage lonely one appearance for the senior side. Caio returned to Brazil on a loan at Parana. He spent the 2018 season with Parana and then joined another Brazilian side Fluminese during the next year.

He then played for Gremio before finally joining Ligue 1 side Monaco on a five-year deal. The left-back finally established himself in the Monaco setup and became one of the most important players for the French team. The fullback has earlier represented brazil at U-20 and U-23 levels.

Barcelona Intend Sign Caio Henrique

Now according to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Barcelona wants to rope in Monaco fullback Caio Henqriue in the next summer transfer window.

Barcelona left-back Jordi Alba has been criticised in the recent past for his performances a lot. Despite being one of the best-attacking fullbacks, his defensive side has let Barcelona down in the recent few years. On top of that because of his huge wage, Barcelona wants to get rid of him soon.

Then there is Marcos Alonso. The Chelsea fullback joined Barcelona at the start of this season. Although he has made quite a few appearances most of them came in an unconventional centre-back position. Barcelona signed him in only a one-year deal. So he might just leave in the next season.

Alejandro Balde is the third left back on this list. Rising from the La Masia, the Spanish fullback has broken into the first team in this season. he has delivered some great performances but is still a work in progress. Hence Barcelona wants a new left-back in their next transfer window.

25-year-old Brazilian fullback Caio Henqriue has risen to be one of the best fullbacks in Ligue 1. The Brazilian has already netted one goal and provided six assists in seventeen appearances this season. Defensively he has been solid so far.

The Catalan giants were linked with the Monaco defender in the last summer window too. However, a move never happened. Now Barcelona have reignited their interest in him. Apart from Henqrique, Barcelona have also been linked with players like Javi Galaan and Alex Grimaldo. So it will be interesting to see who arrives at camp Nou, next season.

The Catalan giants have got a great start to their current la Liga seasons. They have won ten out of their twelve matches. With thirty-one points, Barcelona are in the second position in the table.
