Barcelona are out of the Champions League at the group stage after Inter Milan secured a 4-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in their previous match.

The Catalans were on the brink of an embarrassing group stage exit after they were held to a 3-3 draw by Inter in their fourth match of the Champions League 22/23 campaign.

The draw to Inter had left Barcelona third in Group C with four points from four matches – three points short of second-placed Inter and eight short of table-toppers Bayern Munich.

Barcelona needed Inter Milan to fail to secure a win when they took on Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League. But the Italian side cruised to a 4-0 win over the Czech outfit.

Had Inter been denied a victory by Plzen, Barcelona would have also needed to defeat Bayern Munich in their fifth match of the group stage.

But the Catalan outfit failed to, succumbing to a 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich. The German side comfortably beat Barcelona, whose group-stage exit was confirmed even before the match had started.
