Barcelona new signing regrets joining the Nou Camp!

The star was signed in summer after his impressive display last season. Ernesto Valverde hasn’t given him many starts this season despite Messi’s injury. According to reports, Malcom is regretting joining Barcelona.

Barcelona have invested plenty in the summer transfer window. The Catalan giants signed the likes of Arturo Vidal and Malcom to bolster their squad. With Barcelona at the top of the table, it seems the summer spending has benefited them. However, there seems one player who regrets joining the La Liga champions.

Barcelona new signing Malcom reportedly regrets Barcelona transfer. He regrets about joining the club in the summer and is keen on moving to Roma. Malcom came close to signing for Roma during the summer transfer window. The Serie A side announced they had reached an agreement with Bordeaux for the Brazilian in the previous transfer window, only for Barcelona to swoop in and secure a deal at the last minute.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Malcom deeply regrets moving to the La Liga champions. The Brazilian has made it clear he would be open to joining Roma. However, a move to Roma would be tough.

Malcom’s decision to reject the move to Roma last minute has prompted some tension between the two clubs. It is also reported that the Catalan giants are also said to be against selling the player so soon. However, they may be open to loaning Malcom.

The likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele all fighting for spots in the Barca attack. So for Malcom, it was never going to force his way into the team on a consistent basis. Malcom made his first start for the club on Wednesday, featuring for 80 minutes in the 1-0 Copa del Rey win over Cultural Leonesa. So far in La Liga, Malcom has only played 25 minutes.

Author’s take:

It is a split opinion whether Malcom is happy at Barcelona or not. However, Malcom didn’t expect his Barcelona career to be this tough. This season was expected to be the breakout season for the Brazilian. He was Ligue 1’s best player and the fact that he has played so less amount of minutes is a subtle hint that he deserves more action on the pitch.
