Barcelona News: Aubameyang got his full start for Barca.

Barcelona News: Barcelona drew 1-1 to Napoli in the first leg of Europa League’s knockouts playoffs. The LaLiga giants are playing in the Europa League after 18 long years. Barcelona played the Europa League last in the 2003-04 season. Their return to this competition was expected with nothing but a victory over Napoli but they drew 1-1.

This season has been rather disappointing for the Culers as they saw the departure of Lionel Messi. They signed Sergio Agüero from Manchester City before the start of this season but unfortunately, Agüero had to leave football because of medical issues.

The club has recently made some new signings. They got Ferran Torres from Manchester City, Adama Traore from Wolves, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on loan from Arsenal. The club already signed Memphis Depay and Luuk De Jong earlier before the start of the season.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had his first start for Barcelona in the game against Napoli. The ex-Gunners striker has a terrific record playing in the Europa League but failed to make a difference in his first full match for Barcelona.

Barcelona News: Xavi’s 2020 comment on Aubameyang highlighted.

After Napoli took the lead against Barça, Aubameyang was a peripheral figure in the game. Xavi hooked him off in the 86th minute for Luuk de Jong. His performance reminded everyone of the comments that Xavi made about him in 2020.

Aubameyang can kill you in open space but Barcelona needs players who know how to move in small spaces. I’m thinking about players who would adapt to Barcelona and it’s not easy to find one.” Xavi said in 2020.

Aubameyang started a match for the club after almost 3 months. He was stripped of the Captain’s position by Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta. This was a wake-up call for Aubameyang that made him leave North London where he had four up and down years.

Aubameyang is one of the fastest forwards in world football right now. The Striker has enough potential to shine in his new team. The new number 25 of Barcelona can make a good comeback and will look to help his team qualify for the Round-of-16.

The club is back on track for Revival.

Barcelona has made some good investments over the past few months. They got three forwards from the Premier League in the January transfer window. Ferran Torres, Adama Traore, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all three have proved their worth in England.

All these investments can help Xavi to revive the club after the departure of their star, Messi. Europa League is the only trophy missing from the Barcelona cabinet right now. They have a golden chance to win that trophy this season.

The Culers will be looking to get back on track with their new line of forwards. The club offered another contract to Ousman Dembele but he refused to sign. This means that Barcelona will have to lose their number seven after this season.

Barcelona with Xavi is already on the track to revival. They are in the fourth position on the LaLiga table which means they are in the running for the title and the Champions League spot for the next season. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the club.
