Barcelona News: Sergio Aguero was substituted out of the match against Deportivo Alaves in LaLiga last month. The striker had complained of feeling dizzy, shortness of breath, and discomfort in the chest.
The Argentine was immediately taken to a hospital after being substituted. In the hospital, it was confirmed that he was suffering from cardiac arrhythmia.
Following the incident, FC Barcelona put out an official statement saying that Sergio Aguero would be out of action for at least three months. Aguero had joined Barcelona following a transfer from Manchester City earlier this year.
Following the incident, there have been rumours circulating in the past few days about the Argentine’s retirement from the game.
Sergio Aguero silences the rumours
There has been a rumour circulating on social media in the past couple of days. According to the rumour, Sergio Aguero may have to retire from football. According to the rumour, Aguero is suffering from a cardiac arrhythmia “which is not benign.”
This would have surely caused concern to the Sergio Aguero fans out there. The striker is one of the best in the world and has a massive fan following. But following the rumour, Sergio Aguero himself cleared the air with a tweet.
Aguero tweeted the following on his Twitter account. His tweet read, “Given the rumours, I tell them that I am following the indications of the club’s doctors. I’m doing tests and treatment and seeing my progress within 90 days. Always positive.”
This would surely give some respite to the Barcelona supporters and the many Sergio Aguero fans around the world. But according to his tweet, his fans would have to wait till February at least to know what will be the direction of the Argentines’ future.
Sergio Aguero has had an injury-prone start at Barcelona. He has featured in just 5 matches for Barcelona this season. The Argentine scored his first FC Barcelona goal in the 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in LaLiga.
It looked like the striker was getting started in the Catalunya club. But it was not to be due to the heart problem that he suffered. Millions of FC Barcelona and football fans would surely be hoping that the striker returns to the field and gets back to his best.
The Blaugrana are looking for a temporary replacement
It looks like FC Barcelona are looking to bring in a temporary replacement in their forward position. The club has been crippled with injuries this season, which includes the likes of Aguero, Dembele, and Fati in the attack.
As per the post that we shared earlier, the Blaugrana are looking at a few options in the Premier League. But it would be tough to get a quality player considering the club is in serious debt at the moment.
