Barcelona news: Lionel Messi is one of the most talented footballers of his generation.

Messi joined Barcelona as a 13-year-old kid in 2000. He worked through the club’s youth ranks to make his professional debut during the 2013-14 season. The Argentina international played 520 league games during his time at Camp Nou, scoring 474 goals.

The Blaugrana manager Xavi has answered questions about Lionel Messi’s possible return to Camp Nou.

Speaking to the media, he said(via Fabrizio Romano): “I think that now is not the time to talk about Leo’s return to Barça. He’s a friend of mine, he’s fine there, and so are we. Barcelona is his home, so let him remain calm and continue enjoying himself in Paris”.

Messi struggled with his form during his debut season with the Paris outfit. He managed to score just six goals in 26 league games last term.

However, he has returned to his best this season and has already registered five goals and seven assists in nine Ligue 1 appearances. The Argentina international will play a key role for PSG this term as they look to win their first-ever UEFA Champions League trophy.

Messi’s current contract with the Parisians will expire at the end of the current season. However, he has an option to extend it for another year. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
