Barcelona is all set to sell their star midfielder to Italian giants Juventus in exchange for two players.
The Catalan giants are looking to trim their squad ahead of January transfer window. Barcelona brought in Frenkie De Jong from Ajax this summer. The Dutch midfielder has been delivering good performances lately under Valverde. This has kept the midfielder out of the game and on the verge of being sold to Juventus.
According to Don Balon, Barcelona are preparing to sell Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic to Juventus. The Croatian international has been a regular for Barcelona under Ernesto Valverde until Ajax star midfielder’s entry in Camp Nou. Ivan lost his place to the Dutchman, who is showing good class on the pitch.

Ivan Rakitic hasn’t been in the plans of Valverde recently after De Jong and Arthur showing good rhythm in the pitch. The Croatian arrived in Camp Nou during 2014-15 season for around €18million from Sevilla. The midfielder now might be sold to Juventus and Barcelona are expecting two players in return as part of the deal.
The first player is Daniele Rugani, who is yet to make an appearance for Juventus under Sarri in this season. Juventus recently signed Matthijs De Ligt and Merih Demiral in the summer. These signings have denied the place for Italian defender in the side. The second player is German footballer Emre Can, who had just played two games this season.

Former Liverpool defensive midfielder has been left out of the Champions League squad by Sarri as he went on with other options. However, the Spanish side is looking to acquire the services of Napoli star Fabian Ruiz in January. With Fabian Ruiz as a top priority, Barcelona will also go for Neymar with a fight expected from Real Madrid in grabbing the services of Brazilian winger.
Authors’ take:-
The Catalan giants might have Fabian Ruiz as their top priority this summer with some key players leaving in January. However, Barcelona needs a winger like Neymar who can offer good attack upfront. Barcelona already has enough options in the midfield with new signing Frenkie De Jong gelling well with the squad. Emre Can and Rugani could be good replacement for Rakitic and French defender Samuel Umtiti, who might leave Camp Nou this January.
