Liverpool has always insisted that Philippe Coutinho won’t be leaving for Camp Nou despite Barcelona’s determination to snap him up.
However, Catalan newspaper Sport is now reporting that the deal has advanced to the final stage and all the parties involved in the deal have agreed to a fee. It is said that Barcelona will pay Liverpool hopping £142 Million for the Brazilian and the 25-year-old’s agents and lawyers are already in Barcelona and are putting the final touches required on his contract. Even Liverpool’s representative is there as well and a deal is expected to be finalized in the coming hours.

The Brazilian had already been the subject of three bids from Barcelona, but despite it, Liverpool managed to keep the hold of their star man. However, speculation regarding a January switch to the Nou Camp for Coutinho has continued. Earlier some reports emerged which suggested that the player has already started to look for a house in Barcelona.
Coutinho lived in Barcelona for six months when he was on a loan to Espanyol, back in 2012. It is said that the Brazilian wants to live with near to his former teammate Luis Suarez in the Castelldefels region of the city. Liverpool is all set to make a huge profit on the Brazilian, who arrived for just £8.5 Million back in January 2013.
And the playmaker has been in stunning form for the Reds this season, scoring 12 goals and providing nine assists so far. But it is said that the player has already featured in his last game for the club, as he eyes a move to Spain. Former Liverpool star Paul Ince claimed that his former club will be making a right call by selling the midfielder to Barcelona.
He said: “I don’t think it would work if Liverpool agreed to a deal for Philippe Coutinho to join Barcelona at the end of the season. He’s clearly desperate to go to Barca, and Liverpool has done well to hold onto him this long, to be honest.”
Back in the summer, Paulinho agreed to help pay €7.5m of his €40m release clause to come to Barça.

“Coutinho is very fortunate that he’s playing in front of a very knowledgeable Anfield crowd at the moment, and they haven’t turned on him because they obviously want him to stay. But if you were to agree for him to go in the summer, that relationship could become completely different.
It would be very hard, especially as Coutinho’s heart has been set on this move for so long, to play for Liverpool for the next five months.”
I guess the player would be a huge success at Barcelona. Coutinho’s style of football will see him fit well in Barcelona’s midfield. He can offer Barcelona what Iniesta does for them. He can build up the play from behind and can improve their build-up significantly.
