Barcelona set to hijack Manchester United’s bid for £50 million rated target

Jose Mourinho’s hope of signing Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan hangs by a thread, with both Barcelona and Chelsea after the Croatian winger.

With Barcelona, willing to spend the Neymar money to fill the Neymar void in their MSN trio, their shortlist has slowly grown. Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho, Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele, and now Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic have now joined the list.

However, with Liverpool refusing to let Coutinho leave the club as manager Jurgen Klopp has taken a firm stance against their Brazilian playmaker leaving the club. And, according to a statement released by Dortmund, the Bundesliga club has rejected the Camp Nou’s side opening offer for starlet Ousmane Dembele.

Ivan Perisic to Barcelona or Manchester United??

Thus the Spanish giants have turned their attention to the Croatian and according to SportItalia, Barcelona’s riches from the massive €222 million they received from PSG, would make Inter’s asking price of €50 million spare change for Perisic. The 228-year-old winger has been heavily linked to Manchester United all summer with Mourinho even making an offer worth nearly £50 million.

The Croatian has been in superb form and has been one of Inter’s best players and is the kind of player that can open up a defense with a moment of utter brilliance. He combined last season scoring 11 goals and created a further 61 chances for the San Siro side. The Camp Nou side have added Perisic to their shortlist after being frustrated with Liverpool’s refusal to sell Coutinho, despite the Brazilian submitting a transfer request this morning.

Mourinho has been realistic about his transfer plans earlier today and according to the Manchester Evening News, the Portuguese man said, “I understand the reality of the numbers, and I also understand that my club, by doing 75% of what I initially asked, I think the club did very well, so I don’t think I am in a position of crying”.

Mourinho will be frustrated, if Liverpool’s and Borussia Dortmund’s strong stance on Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele respectively, will force the Catalans to make a concrete offer for the Croatian man. Barcelona’s sudden attraction for Ivan Perisic, could now force United into action to ensure they secure their man.
