Barcelona talisman rips into his teammate during the international break

Things have turned into a dark at Barcelona after their 4-3 loss to Real Betis and there’s everyone pointing fingers at each other. Things don’t look handsome now…
Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele was signed from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of over 100 million euros in the summer of 2017, as a replacement to Neymar who had departed for Paris Saint-Germain. The France international’s first season was marred by injuries, but he did recover decently in the second.
But things took a left turn after Dembele hit a string of good form. After failing to not just maintain his form, the winger failed in attending Barcelona’s penultimate training session ahead of the Real Betis loss before the international break. Dembele went AWOL and failed to notify Barcelona’s coaching staff for 90 whole minutes about his absence.

Uruguay international Luis Suarez has been critical of his teammate now and insisted that Dembele must see to the senior players in order to improve his overall conduct.
“Perhaps he needs to focus more and be a little more responsible in some areas. He’s very young and he can look up to the more experienced players that surround him,” Suarez said.
“But he still deserves to be in the team. It’s not the case that he hasn’t adapted to the dressing room. The relationship he has with his teammates is good, he’s happy, but some of us have told him and he knows that it’s a privilege to be where we are.”
Last week, Barcelona defender Gerard Pique said he and the club’s other senior players needed “to help Dembele to understand that football is a 24-hour job and he has to live accordingly”.
Author’s Take
A drip in form is something that is absolutely fine and okay for a club but when a player’s conduct goes haywire, there’s little that the club can do to tolerate. Being young, Dembele should be more respectful to his teammates and the club or see his career flop.
