Catalan Giants FC Barcelona have recently announced that they will wear special kits which will feature rapper Drake’s OVO owl logo in their next match against arch-rival Real Madrid.
Barcelona have got a great start to their La Liga campaign. The Blaugrana have managed to win seven of their first eight matches this season.
They have already gathered twenty-two points from these eight matches and are currently in the top position on goal difference ahead of the defending La Liga champions Real Madrid. Now the two top teams of Spain will face each other in their next La Liga match.
However, before that Barcelona have announced something unique for El Clasico.
Barcelona will don OVO Owl logo
Just ahead of the El Clasico, FC Barcelona have confirmed that they will have a special jersey for the match which will have rapper Drake’s OVO owl logo.
Canadian rapper Drake is one of the most famous artists in the whole world. Throughout his prestigious career, he has broken many records with his songs and won 275 awards including four Grammy.
Now the rapper recently became the first artist on Spotify to surpass 50 billion streams. Now Spotify is Barcelona’s principal sponsor. So Barcelona will celebrate this big achievement of Drake in their own way.
The newly looked jersey for this special event will have Drake’s OVO Owl logo in place of the usual Spotify badge. Their training kits will contain 50 in place of the Spotify logo.
While speaking about this huge honour Drake wrote on his Instagram, “This doesn’t feel real but it is.”
Barcelona roped Spotify to become their principal sponsor at the start of this ongoing season. The deal which happened between these parties is one of the biggest sponsorship deals in the history of sports. As a result Barcelona’s current stadium Camp Nou is also known as Spotify Camp Nou currently.
from the start of the partnership, both parties aimed to bring football and music closer. Now by doing this unique thing, they have surely come closer to their goal.
Now coming to the main thing, Barcelona’s opponent Real Madrid is also in rich form. Similar to Barca, they are yet to lose a single match in La Liga.
Real Madrid ran away with the Spanish league comfortably last time. They also won the UEFA Champions League. But interestingly Xavi’s Barcelona handed them a humiliating 4-0 loss at the Santiago Bernabeu which could have been a far poor result for the Los Blancos.
Barcelona also came out victorious when both clubs met during the pre-season. Summer signing Raphinha scored the only goal of the match. The stage for the El Clasico set and we are going to witness a great battle next Sunday when the two teams face each other.
