Barcelona Transfer News: Barcelona, one of the best teams in La Liga, has reportedly made a bid for Jules Kounde that is worth €65 million with add-ons. Kounde is wanted by Chelsea
Barcelona Transfer News: Spanish news outlet Fichajes says that Catalan giants Barcelona have made an offer to sign Jules Kounde in the summer transfer window.
They have offered a package worth €65 million, including add-ons, to sign Kounde. Chelsea, a top team in the Premier League, also wants to sign the Sevilla centre-back.
After three great seasons with Sevilla, Jules Kounde has become a very sought-after player. He is now one of the best defenders in La Liga and is 23 years old. At the same time, he has a place on the French national team and should be on the plane to Qatar for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Kounde has played 133 times for Sevilla, scoring nine goals and setting up three others. But the French centre-back might have played his last game at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium, even though he has finally joined the pre-season training camp. Barcelona and Chelsea are both trying to get him to play for them.
Barcelona is interested because Gerard Pique is getting older and is starting to show signs that his age is catching up with him.
Also, it looks like Samuel Umtiti and Oscar Mingueza will never play at Camp Nou again because Barcelona doesn’t need them.
So, Kounde is a possible target for Barcelona. The Blaugrana are trying different things to get their top defensive target, Kounde.
What’s next for Jules Kounde?
And the Catalan giants have made an offer worth €65 million to sign Kounde, even though Chelsea is also trying hard to get the 23-year-old defender from Sevilla.
Recent reports say that the Blues and Sevilla have reached an agreement for the Blues to sign Kounde. Personal terms aren’t likely to be a problem. But despite all of that, Chelsea might not be able to get the French player because he wants to play for Barcelona.
Kounde hasn’t made a final decision about his future yet. Even though Barcelona has offered him less money than Chelsea ($7 million vs. $12 million), they might still be able to sign him.
For now, Sevilla has received Barcelona’s offer of €65 million. It will be interesting to see if a base fee of €55 million is enough.
