Barcelona Transfer News: Valencia has allegedly shown interest in acquiring striker Martin Braithwaite from the Catalan club
Barcelona Transfer News:Â According to a report that was received by Barca Universal from a Spanish journalist named Gerard Romero, Valencia is reportedly interested in the possibility of signing a forgotten striker for Barcelona named Martin Braithwaite during the next summer transfer window.
In February of 2020, Braithwaite made the move from Leganes to Barcelona as an emergency signing for the Catalan club. The acquisition of the Danish forward was, at first, welcomed with a great deal of criticism.
However, as time went on, the versatile striker was able to win over the affection of the Barcelona fans thanks to his demeanor and his level of effort out on the field.
The striker was never a mainstay in the starting lineup. But, whenever he was given the chance, he still managed to make contributions that were both necessary and important. To this point, he has appeared 58 times for Barcelona.

Barcelona Transfer News: About the transfer
He has scored 10 goals and assisted on five more. Before suffering an injury, he got off to a strong start in the first few games of the season. He had two goals and one assist in the first three contests.
Since returning to full fitness just after the new year, Braithwaite has had a difficult time finding playing time for Barcelona. This is because the Catalan club significantly bolstered their forward line in January by acquiring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Ferran Torres, and Adama Traore.
Braithwaite has only appeared in two games under the management of Xavi Hernandez thus far. Barcelona is said to be in negotiations with Bayern Munich to acquire Robert Lewandowski during the summer transfer window. So, his chances of earning consistent playing time are only going to become worse.
At this moment, a departure would be the wisest move forward for all parties concerned. Valencia is willing to provide Braithwaite with an escape path over the summer months. Hugo Duro, a young player for Los Che, has been relied upon significantly to shoulder the weight of goal scoring in recent games.
Will Barcelona allow Maxi Gomez to leave?
Maxi Gomez has not been performing to his full potential. In light of the circumstances, it’s possible that recruiting a veteran striker like Braithwaite would be beneficial to the team.
As for Barcelona, they would be getting rid of a player who is unnecessary for their team. This would open up space on their pay bill for any new players that they bring in during the forthcoming transfer window.
The 30-year-old player, who is under contract with the Blaugrana until 2024, is attracting interest from Premier League team Newcastle United.
His current deal extends until 2024. It is becoming more probable that he will leave the club this summer. Nevertheless, it is unknown where he will go next.
