Why Bastian Shweinsteiger Should Leave Manchester United In The January Transfer Window?

Bastian Schweinsteiger boasts of a career in football both on club and International level that hardly some do. He’s a legend in every sense of the word. He has won everything that’s there to be won in football. As Bayern Munich fans lovingly call him the Fußballgott, he had one dream to be left fulfilled and which came true as he signed up for Manchester United. He’s been a lifelong fan of United legend Eric Cantona. He also left Bayern for United to get more game time and resurrect his career. Under Louis Van Gaal he got his chances and did well on some occasions but for most of the part last season he was injured.

With Mourinho’s arrival a lot seemed to be changing at the club and Schweinsteiger’s future looked uncertain too. There were rumours that he could leave the club as Mourinho doesn’t fancy him but for some reason he didn’t and when Mourinho named him the 25 man squad for Europa league it seemed as if the differences have been buried and Mourinho sees him in his plans.

Now, 2 months since the new season began, Schweinsteiger hasn’t had a single minute on the pitch and hasn’t even featured in the subs. He has been completely frozen out by the United manager and things don’t look like they’re gonna change for him at Manchester United. His dream move to United has became a nightmare for him.

He can hardly do anything to get in the good books of Mourinho now and also when Manchester United have quite some players for the same position there’s not even a bleak chance left for him.

So, what now for Schweinsteiger? Well, the best option available for him is to force a move away from United in the January transfer window and not let his glittery career end on such a sad note. If fit he can still provide a lot to someone who’d want him. At the age of 32, he still has some 2 odd years left in him.

There are various options available for him. From United States to China, there could be clubs flocking in to capitalise on his star status even if he can’t give them much on the pitch and also he could cash in as much he likes on it. He himself said in August that he envisages a future in New York and MLS but not before 2018.

But with the looks of the things, he might have to re-think on it and consider it as a major option this coming January.

He deserves a better treatment than what he’s been given by Jose Mourinho for all that he’s given to football. He’ll also be hoping that his Old Trafford nightmare could end soon.
