Manchester United could be in overhaul mode as they look to sell fringe players.
It will be a cheerful weekend for Manchester United fans all over the world. United are 3 points clear at the top of the table thanks to their 1-0 win at Burnley. The club’s moving in the right direction and fans will hope they can build on their momentum.
Manchester United has gone through many changes over the years with changes in coaches and personnel. As a new manager comes in he brings new players but sometimes the signings don’t work out.
It is key for any manager to identify which players are key to the squad and which are not a part of the clubs’ future plans. For quite some time there were players at the club who weren’t really contributing. But now things are changing.
Ole has driven a good recruitment policy for United but along with that, he is also focusing on offloading players from the club. Sergio Romero and Marcos Rojo are available for sale. Brandon Williams is being considered for a loan.
Timothy Fosu Mensah and Jesse Lingard are two more players who are being rumored to leave the club. Fosu Mensah isn’t getting much game time at United as Van Bissaka is the clear favorite at that position.
United are also in talks of signing a new right-back which does not work in Fosu Mensah’s favor. He is deemed surplus by the club and Ole has said that he won’t stand in the way of a possible move.
Bayern Leverkusen Fosu Mensah’s most probable destination
It just hasn’t worked out for Fosu Mensah at United. The player hasn’t got enough game time to really settle down in the squad. He got very few chances and he wasn’t really able to impress in those too.
But that does not mean he is not a good player. He certainly is skilled and has a ton of potential to develop into a great player. Maybe a new start would be better for his own self.
Solskjaer was quoted by The Mail: “I’m not sure if Timo is going to stay or [if] he’s going to take an option now. “He’s not played enough, so of course he’s been allowed to speak to clubs, with a view to leaving now in January.”
Ajax too were interested in Fosu Mensah’s availability. But as per recent reports Bayer Leverkusen are the top contenders for the Dutch International.
Fosu Mensah is expected to sign a 3 year deal with the German Club and the move is estimated at around $1.8-2 million. At the age of just 23 Fosu Mensah could be a really good pickup for Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen has had a brilliant start to the season. They are in the 3rd position in the Bundesliga table just 4 points of the top. Fosu Mensah’s addition could add a new dimension to the team’s defensive line.
