The young Aston Villa starlet, Carney Chukwuemeka has grabbed multiple attention from big clubs across Europe. That being said, the Bundesliga leaders, Bayern Munich are said to be the front runners for the Villa midfielder, who they hope to land the coming transfer window.

Carney Chukwuemeka is the next big thing from England after Jude Bellingham according to reports. The 17-year-old midfielder started his football career at the third-tier English club known as Northampton Town. Falling in love with the game at a very young age, he made sure that he achieved his dreams.

At the age of 12, he shifted his club from Northampton and joined the youth side of Aston Villa. After playing for a couple of years and developing himself to world-class talent, he was promoted to the U-18 Villa side. His way much-matured performance earned him another promotion.

Chukwuemeka now plays for the club’s U-23 side. This means, at such a young age he is already playing alongside players 7 years elder to him. No wonder why many clubs are interested in landing him early. Moreover, he was even considered the best 16-year-old player in England, before he turned 17 in January.

He is of the same age as Jude Bellingham now, another English talent who plays for Borussia Dortmund. Jude has the upper hand in the current ager group as he is already playing first division football and even scored in the Champions League, which gives him the upper hand if compared.

The likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool had already laid their eyes for the generational talent. However, they were disappointed as the player decided to stay there and signed his first contract with Aston Villa. He decided that developing in Birmingham was the right choice for him.

After getting promoted to the Premier League last season, Aston Villa struggled a lot. In fact, they were able to enjoy another year only because of VAR. In a match against Sheffield United, which was supposed to end in a draw, VAR denied a clear goal scored by The Blades.

With that lifeline, they finished a place above relegation. However, they made sure that the gifted chance wasn’t wasted. At a point during this season, they were the surprise candidates for the top-4 spots and even a title contender. They even defeated a fully fit Liverpool side by a 7-2 scoreline.

It was fun while it lasted. For the first half of the season, everyone was sitting on the edge of their seats to find out where they’ll finish. However, they started slowing down from the second half. After losing their star player, Jack Grealish, they haven’t been the same. Although they are not on top, they are in a decent position, exactly halfway at the 10th position.

They sit a place behind Arsenal with a game in hand. They can leapfrog The Gunners if they defeat Manchester United in their next fixture. However, they still have a slight chance of grabbing the Europa League spot. But it also depends on the other teams’ results.

Carney Chukwuemeka has been called to the first team a couple of times in recent months but remained as a benchwarmer. He will be looking to get his first-team chance very soon.

Aston Villa will be trying their best to keep him and grant him a new deal once he turns 18. The German giants are the favourites to land Carney Chukwuemeka and will be stepping up their chase in the coming weeks.
