Bayern Munich emerge as favourites for Arsenal’s most wanted ahead of United and Chelsea

Bayern Munich have stolen a march on Manchester United and Chelsea for the signatures of Arsenal’s much-wanted midfielder, Aaron Ramsey.

The Bavarians have been keeping a close eye on the Welsh international after contract talks with Arsenal collapsed.
As per the Daily Express, Bayern have emrged as surprising front-runners for the signature of the Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool have all been linked with a move for one of the highest price professional Aaron Ramsey who is all set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

The 27-year old Aaron Ramsey was set to sign a new deal at Arsenal but the club suddenly decided to withdraw their offer last month. On the other hand, Bayern are ready to offer a package to the former Cardiff City midfielder in a bid to lure him to make a move to the Bundesliga. Ramsey’s wages will be the only concern for Bayern, as the midfielder reportedly wants a significant pay raise from his current deal.

Aaron Ramsey is primarily an attacking midfielder, but he can also operate in a box-to-box role. Ramsey has a great knack of scoring goals, and his passing in the final third is pretty decisive. He has been the highest goal-scoring midfielder in Arsenal’s history. Ramsey would provide a good variety to Bayern’s midfield and provide some help going forward as well.

His fitness over the years in the only thing holding him back from becoming a world-class player. The dynamic midfielder has struggled with numerous muscle injuries in the past few seasons. He needs to be managed perfectly to avoid injuries and get the best out of him.

Leon Goretzka position will be in threat if Bayern signs the Arsenal midfielder. James Rodriguez, Thomas Muller will also be worried about their game time as they also primarily operate in the attacking midfield. Ramsey’s wage demands will also disrupt the club’s wage structure. There are more drawbacks than the advantages to this transfer.

Author’s take:

Firstly,  Bayern need to bolster their holding midfield position instead of looking for an attacking midfielder. It will be a huge risk from Bayern’s point of view if they are ready to invest in a 27-year-old injury prone midfielder. However, the fact that he would cost the club nothing in terms of a transfer fee could be influential.
