He helped the Leipzig outfit claim the DFB-Pokal trophy last season and was also included in the UEFA Europa League Team of the Season 2021-22.
However, the 25-year-old midfielder is in the final year of his contract at the Red Bull Arena. He has been linked with a move away from the club recently.
Bayern Munich news: Konrad Laimer linked with a move to Allianz Arena
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich are optimistic about signing RB Leipzig star Konrad Laimer on a Bosman deal next summer.
The Bavarians tried to sign the Austria international this summer but failed to reach an agreement over a transfer fee with the Red Bulls. Laimer has been on Julian Nagelsmann’s shortlist since 2021.
However, the Munich outfit will face competition from Liverpool to sign the former RB Leipzig star. The Merseysiders contacted the German club to sign Laimer during the closing stages of the recently concluded transfer window. However, the Leipzig outfit rebuffed their approach as they didn’t want to sell their key player this close to the deadline.
According to TEAMtalk, the Reds will make an approach to signing him again during the January window.
