25-year-old Youtuber-turned boxer Jake Paul has been in talks after his nerve-wracking win over renowned UFC Champion Anderson Silva to remain unbeaten in his professional boxing career. What’s more interesting is the highly anticipated fight between ‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul and now a free agent, Nate Diaz.
The duo is constantly seen having scuffles here and there, and fans have been waiting for a final showdown contest between them. Even if the fight won’t make Nate Diaz champion of the MMA universe, the fight totally makes sense. Here’s why!
People already want Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul
As history speaks for itself, most of the biggest rivalries in the combat world started way before the actual match. And in most of the cases, there were pre-existing issues between the competitors in some form or other. It all resulted in actually adding some ‘masala’ in the rivalry storyline.
Such is the case when we talk about the drift between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul. It all started back in 2021 after Paul defeated Ben Askren in a knockout contest. Owing to this match, Nathan Diaz accused Jake of not having the ability to fight. He also declared Askren a “retired wrestler who can’t fight or box“.
Also, recently Nate Diaz called out Anderson Silva for “getting paid” to lose to Jake Paul in the fight. This is when Jake came to label Diaz as a “street gangster”. There have been some behind-the-scenes clashes between these two too! Given the heat between these men already rising, it seems like the right time to have this face-off and settle the score.
How could Nate Diaz win this fight?
Even when ‘The Problem Child’ has six back-to-back wins, his techniques are nowhere near perfection. He also got tired in the longer sessions against Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley.
As people see, Jake Paul is a newbie in the Boxing universe. However, in spite of not having boxed professionally, Nate Diaz remains to be one of the stronger boxers in the UFC. Having beaten the likes of Anthony Pettis and Michael Johnson, at the age of 37, Diaz still looks sharp with his cardio and technique.
This is where he has an upper hand on the 25-year-old boxer.
What about Jake Paul?
Often criticised for fighting competitors whom he already has an upper hand over, Jake Paul also has his own advantages going into this big contest. For starters, Paul is naturally bigger than Diaz and fights in the higher-weight category. Also, Nate Diaz is already past his peak years, and his durability going down with time.
Thus, although being a better boxer from a technical point of view, Nate Diaz seems to be a beatable choice for Jake Paul too.
Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul: A Talk About Money
Last but not the least, the rivalry between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul is going to attract a large number of eyeballs, and given this fact, it accounts for a massive pay-per-view number. This means that both of them will eventually make surplus money in the process.
There’s also the possibility of further rivalries between siblings of Jake Paul and Nat Diaz- Logan Paul, and Nick Diaz respectively. While both of them follow similar career paths as their siblings, even their fights would be an easy sell. Thus, this rivalry would just be the beginning of a much bigger conflict to come.
