Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is at a contract impasse and latest reports state that the Welshman will be let go next summer.
It has been a tough few weeks for Ramsey who continues to don Arsenal’s jersey despite being unsure where his future lies beyond this season. Manager Unai Emery has time and again stated that he wants Ramsey to stay focused while dodging the direct question of the player’s future. The 27-year-old has previously come out to state his frustration admitting that he hopes someone from the club would explain to him the situation and his wish has finally been fulfilled.
According to reports in Sky Sports, club officials have met with the player and explained that he will not be given a new contract. this latest development comes after months of negotiation that have not led to a positive resolution. Ramsey’s current deal expires in June 2019 and he will be consequently allowed to leave the club for free next summer. This will come as a huge boost to the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United who are hoping the poach him from their domestic rival. While Juventus are also keeping tabs on his situation.

Ramsey is the clubs longest-serving player at present having joined from Cardiff in 2008. He has since made 343 appearances, scoring 60 goals in the process. His latest a sumptuous strike against Fulham that marked the ‘return of Gunners’. The Welshman, meanwhile, continues to be one of the five captains under Unai Emery and the fans will be hoping that his performance levels do not drop over the course of the season.
It has been an interesting situation that developed at the Emirates recently. Ramsey has now become the third high-profile player whose contract has been allowed to enter his final year of contract. Now, that his exit is all but confirmed, he’ll be a steal for any club for free. Manchester United, Juventus, Chelsea, Liverpool have all been linked and all of them could do with a player like him.
