Breaking! Manchester United prepared to hijack rivals’ transfer for Premier League star

Alexis Sanchez

It seems that Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho is ready to battle it out with local rivals Manchester City in an attempt to snap up Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal and out of Manchester City’s hands this month.

Chilean star Alexis Sanchez runs down his Arsenal contract by the end of this season and Arsene Wenger is quite confident now that he is willing to sell the 29-year-old attacker in this transfer window to raise funds for further transfers at the club. But after having reportedly agreed to personal terms with Manchester City, the ‘Special One’ is ready to play a few games of his own by preparing a bid for Sanchez in order to lure him to Old Trafford.

The Inside Transfer News on Sanchez

Sanchez has reportedly agreed to a £250,000 a-week deal with Manchester City which will see him link up with Guardiola, the pair worked together at their time in Spain at Barcelona. A bid for £20 million has been offered but the Gunners are yet to accept it. However, recent reports from Sky in Italy claim that the Red side of Manchester is looking to offer £25 million to the North London club with a steeper pay for Sanchez.

To make matters interesting, Mourinho is willing to offer United outcast Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Arsenal as part of the deal and surprisingly, the Portuguese boss seems confident of securing a deal for Alexis Sanchez. However, Arsenal would have to meet the Armenian midfielder’s high wage demands which are believed to be close to £200,000 a week.

Alexis Sanchez

Sanchez’s transfer to City seemed like a done deal a few days ago, however, Mourinho’s interest has spiced up the situation,

Wenger, on the other hand, has identified a possible replacement for Sanchez in the form of Bordeaux star Malcolm, although the French outfit will be unwilling to let go of the Brazilian sensation for anything under €50 million, with rival Premier League clubs showing heavy interest in the 20-year-old.

I believe letting go of Sanchez would be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal, and although one can never tell with football transfers, City currently seems to be leading the race for the stellar winger’s signature. With the fees that Wenger receives, he could look for another striker to bolster his attacking options.
