BREAKING: Team India announce their playing XI for 2nd T20I against Australia at Bangalore

With Australia leading 1-0 in the two match series, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has named his Indian playing eleven ahead of the second T20I at Bangalore.

The first T20I between India and Australia was a closely fought contest which went right down the wire as the visitors managed to get the better of the men in blue by 7 wickets. Nathan Coulter-Nile picked up three wickets for the visitors while Glenn Maxwell struck a brilliant half-century to help Australia take an unassailable 1-0 lead in a two-match series.

With the second and final T20I to be played on Wednesday, the 26th of February at Bengaluru, former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja has put forth his predictions for the playing XI and few changes that could be made by Team India in order to avoid a series defeat. Jadeja feels that skipper Virat Kohli would probably go in with three changes in the playing XI for the game.

The former Indian cricketer believes that Rohit Sharma would be rested for the second T20I with Shikhar Dhawan coming in his place. Dhawan was rested in the previous game paving the way for a comeback by KL Rahul, who utilized the opportunity to the fullest scoring an impressive 50 off 36 balls, comprising of seven boundaries. Jadeja also feels that either of Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik would be rested in order to give all rounder Vijay Shankar a chance in the second T20I.

However, Pant sitting on the benches seems to be a rare sight at the moment as skipper Kohli had himself promised more chances for the youngster. Shankar, on the other hand would probably make the cut for the game following his brilliant display of batting against New Zealand in the three-match T20I series where he scored 84 runs in three innings. Jadeja also feels that Siddharth Kaul could be brought in by Kohli in place of Umesh after his forgettable outing in the first T20I where he failed to defend 14 runs in the last over of the game.

“Maybe Rohit gets a rest. Not because of his performance. Kohli sticks to three. Rishabh Pant had one game, MS Dhoni had one game, Krunal Pandya has just come in. Vijay Shankar is someone who played at No.3 in Kohli’s absence, but now he is not there in the side. Siddharth Kaul will certainly get a game and Umesh will be rested. Jasprit Bumrah will play, Yuzvendra Chahal will play and Markande will play. So either of Pant or Karthik will be rested for Shankar,” Jadeja said in conversation with Cricbuzz

India losing the first T20I against Australia would only help the men in blue analyze where the team went wrong and accordingly plan their game to fix it. The series against Australia would be the final opportunity for the men in blue to overcome their shortcomings before the World’s biggest cricketing event commences.
