The ongoing Test series between Australia and India currently stands at 1-1. The hosts performed considerably better the visitors in the ongoing third Test match at Sydney Cricket Ground.
The visitors have been trying really hard to pick up the pace but they still have a lot of catching up to do to meet the expectations. Australia batted first and posted a total of 338 with the help of Steve Smith’s 131 and Marnus Labuschagne’s 91.
Will Pukovski had a fine day at the office as he scored 62 to his name. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja made the headlines for running out Steve Smith with a rocket-arm throw.
Besides that, he hogged the limelight after taking four important wickets and ended up as the best bowler for the visitors in the first innings. Jasprit Bumrah and Navdeep Saini took 2 wickets each.
In reply, India managed to score 244 at the expense of all the wickets. Shubman Gill impressed everyone by scoring his maiden half-century. Cheteshwar Pujara who was in bad form with the bat in the first two Tests, rose to the occasion and scored an important fifty to his name.
Pat Cummins was the pick of the bowlers for Australia as he took 4 wickets to his credit. Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets to his name while Mitchell Starc ended up taking a wicket.
Umpire’s reaction to Bumrah whipping the bails off is priceless
After India got bundled out for a modest total, the hosts came out to bat with a healthy lead of 96 runs already. Despite losing David Warner and Will Pukovski early on in the innings, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith added a solid 103-run stand for the third wicket.
Marnus departed after scoring 73 with the help of 9 fours. While Australia were batting at 165/4 with a healthy lead of 259, Jasprit Bumrah was caught on camera doing a playful incident which drew the attention of the cricket viewers.
After bowling 5 balls in his over, Bumrah playfully knocked the bails off and after which the on-field umpire Paul Reiffel gave a priceless reaction. The video of the same is doing the rounds on all social media platforms. Nobody expected a better reaction from the umpire who simply nailed it at the best scene.

During the Steve Smith was dismissed leg before wicket off Ravichandran Ashwin’s bowling as he was dismissed on 81 with the help of 8 fours and a six. Cameron Green played the best knock of the series as he chipped in with 84 with the help of 8 fours and 4 sixes.
Australia favourites to win SCG Test
Australia declared the innings at 312/6 and set up a target of 407 for the visitors. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill once again provided a great start to the game by adding 71-run stand for the opening wicket before Gill was dismissed on 31.
Rohit went about his business and scored his first half-century as an opener in overseas Test. He ended up getting out on 52. Pujara and Rahane are batting on 9 and 4 respectively as the visitors end the Day 2 with 98/2. With one more day to go and plenty of overs in hand, Australia are the favourites to win the match.
