Former Manchester City and current Chelsea keeper Willy Caballero has praised Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen’s mentality on the pitch.
The 36-year-old, who arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2017, spoke about his dressing room neighbors, including fellow veteran keeper Eduardo and Christensen.
The Argentine only had positive things to say about the young defender who has broken through under Antonio Conte this season after impressing in the Bundesliga with Borussia Monchengladbach. His most impressive performance of late was against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, as the Red Devils were beaten thanks to Alvaro Morata’s solitary goal.

Caballero praises young Christensen
The former Malaga No.1 spoke to the club’s official site, chelseafc.com in an interview about his relationship with his team-mates.
When asked about how Christensen is, as a player and his opinion of the youngster, Caballero only had good things to say about the young Denmark international, who helped his country reach the World Cup just yesterday.
Caballero said,”“For Andreas, it is the way that he plays because he is really young but he looks older when he plays”.
Christensen has really proven his quality in the Premier League with solid displays at the back for Chelsea.
Caballero gives a perfect assessment of the young defender’s style of play. Christensen’s excellent displays have kept David Luiz out of the team, who is reportedly on his way out of the club after a clash with Conte.
Chelsea fans won’t be worried about the Brazilian international’s future when they have the young Christensen shining at the back. The defender’s displays have given the Blues cause for optimism in the future, he was a highly rated youngster in his early years. However, he has now truly stepped up to the Premier League level and is delivering the quality that is expected of him.
Christensen’s displays show a maturity beyond his age of 21, the youngster has really been impressive at the back for Chelsea. He is beginning to prove himself to be more than just a squad player and Conte is more than happy to let the youngster develop by letting him play big games in the league for the Blues.
