Defending English Premier League champions Manchester City have got a good start to their title defense.
Pep Guardiola’s team won seven of their first ten matches in the EPL. They have gathered twenty-three points from these ten matches and are currently in the second position in the league.
One of the main reasons for City’s great form is none other than their summer signing Erling Haaland. manchester City roped in Erling Haaland at the start of the season after paying his release clause worth £51 million to his former team Borussia Dortmund.
Since then, Haaland has scored 20 goals in all competitions including three hattricks against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and arch-rivals Manchester United. The Norwegian goal machine who is on a record-breaking spree has become one of the best players in the world. With his presence, City currently have one of the best forward lines. Now can they still take it a level above and make sure no one even comes close?

A Monaco academy graduate, Kyllian Mbappe came into the limelight after winning the Ligue 1 title in 2017. Following this, he became one of the biggest young prospects in the world.
Paris Saint-Germain managed to square him in the next season after paying €180 million for the forward. He then helped the France national team to win the World Cup 2018 in Russia.
Mbappe scored in the final match against Croatia and became the first teenager since the great Pele to do so. Things were moving very swiftly for the youngster and he became the poster boy of PSG.
But everything took a drastic turn when the forward entered the final year of his contract. La Liga giants Real Madrid intended to include him in their squad. They even managed to agree on personal terms but PSG was reluctant to sell him.
Then this summer, the transfer saga of Mbappe went to a different level. Finally the French forward decided to stay at PSG and extended his contract.
But now once again, it has been revealed that he wants to move out of the club. Mbappe’s relationship with PSG is reportedly at its lowest point. But where can the midfielder sign next?
Mbappe to Manchester City?
Despite Real’s interest in this summer, after Mbappe’s decision to stay in Paris, it is expected they are not going to pursue the forward ever again. Liverpool is one possible destination but can then spend the amount of money that will require to sign him? This is a big question.
In the meantime, another name that has come around is Manchester City. According to Marca, Pep Guardiola’s team will not have any financial problems if they want to sign the forward.
Now if they somehow manage to do so, the Spaniard will have two of the best players of the upcoming generation. With Haaland playing as the striker, Mbappe can play at his preferred second-striker position. This position however does exist there in the Paris Saint-Germain system.
Now if the duo can keep their egos out of it, this lineup will surely give every defense trouble. But Mbappe wants to rise as the sole superstar of the team. This is another reason why the Frenchman wants an exit from PSG where they have multiple superstars.
Meanwhile, Mbappe and Haaland are often thought of as the next rivals of world football. So if City can unite them under a single banner, this is going to be a big statement to the football world. Now only time will tell us if the Citizens make a move or not.
