Cazorla Out For The Remainder Of The Season

Arsenal’s Spanish midfielder, Santi Cazorla, last played for them in October, was instrumental in the 6-0 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League tie. Since then he has missed all the games for Arsenal.

It comes as a severe blow that he has been ruled out for the remainder of the season as well. The 32-year-old has been suffering from an ankle injury, and he will not be able to play for the team anymore this season.

He should probably take the time off to recover from his injury. He is a key player for the team but had been missing from the team thus far.

Arsenal

The season has been frustrating for him, especially when you see your team being shamed. But the Spaniard is helpless, without being match-fit. Even in the games, he played for Arsenal this season, he scored only 2 goals. The first came against Watford in August. He managed the next goal a month later in September against Southampton.

Cazorla should take the time off to recover fully, and look forward to returning next season. He joined the London side in 2012 from Malaga. In the 5 seasons, he has been at Arsenal, he has scored 180 goals for them. In the current situation, the Gunners would have been delighted to see him return to similar form.

Gunner’s Misery:

Several criticisms were aimed at the Gunner’s manager after their defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League tie. The German giants beat them convincingly at 5-1. At one stage in the first half, the Gunners managed to equalise 1-1. But they could not stop the Germans from scoring.

The criticism has reached a whole new level this year. So much that Wenger might end his term as Arsenal manager.

A number of players and coaches have come to Wenger’s defence, including rival Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola. Recently, former Gunner Samir Nasri has also supported Wenger.

Arsenal have been slipping down in the Premier League standings and would need some brilliant performance for the rest of the season to recover.
