Chelsea are going through a tough patch in the Premier League. Lampard under pressure amid sack rumor.
Chelsea has found themselves struggling in the past few weeks. The team is going through a dry spell as points are getting hard to come by. There have been comparisons drawn as to how the club was in a better position this time last year.
Frank Lampard has spent a fortune on summer acquisitions for Chelsea. The club has spent around $250 million in adding reinforcements to their squad which is why the pressure on them is that much more.
New signings kike Werner and Havertz haven’t been able to get going. There have been many questions on the price tag of some players coming in. Particularly Kai Havertz as he hasn’t been his influential self in Chelsea’s attack.
The atmosphere at the club has quickly changed. From the top of the table, they have fallen down to the 9th spot. The 3-1 defeat against Manchester City will also do damage to the team’s morale.

The outlook of Chelsea
There are bad spells for big clubs and the pressure is so much at the top that rumors start flying around. As of now, there is no threat to Frank’s job but Chelsea has set criteria as to when they will start looking for replacements.
Chelsea’s board has set a red flag for Frank Lampard’s season

It is often seen in the Premier League that fans are very quick to turn on new managers. One moment you are the king of the land and the next people want you gone. This is something that Frank Lampard is going through right now.
He said that when Chelsea was at the 1st spot people were asking when is he going to sign an extension. Now there are questions on his capabilities as a manager. But Frank knows that the Premier League isn’t easy and there are always rough patches.
As per news from the Express, the Board are in his favor as of now and will give him time to turn things around. However, there is a target which Chelsea are expected to achieve. At the very least the club should be in the top 4.
If they can add a trophy to it then it would be even better. But if Chelsea starts to stray away from this target as the season progresses then it would be dangerous for Frank Lampard.
However, there is still plenty of time left for the Blues to turn things around. They are coming off a tough schedule and their next match against Fulham will be of key importance. The club will be hoping to secure 3 points and move up in the table.
It would be great if Werner or Havertz could have a good game and recover their lost form. This Chelsea team certainly has the potential to be special but will they able to show up still remains a question.
