Sergio Ramos has been a part of Madrid for the last 15 years. The player made the move from Sevilla in 2005 and has been with Madrid ever since. He has been been the cornerstone of Real Madrid’s success for all these years.
However, every good thing must come to an end and it looks like Ramos and Real Madrid could finally be parting ways. Zinedine Zidane has to make a decision regarding a long term replacement for Ramos.
Although Ramos won’t be going anywhere soon as the player still has a contract till 2022. But when talked about a contract he said, “I have a contract, until 2022. So, I’m not going to ask for anything.
Zinedine Zidane however has to look at it from another point of view. Ramos is 34 now and only has a few good years left in him. There needs to be a defensive acquisition so that the club is ready for when Sergio isn’t there.

The club is looking at Bayern Munich’s David Alaba as a potential replacement. Alaba is one of the best players in his position in the game right now. The Austrian has won it all with Bayern but he too might be leaving come January.
Chelsea too are interested in him and will provide competition to Real Madrid for Alaba’s signature. The Blues are coming off an enormous spending spree and they might be looking to continue their summer acquisitions.
Chelsea willing to battle Madrid for David Alaba

David Alaba is nearing the last 6 months of his contract with Bayern Munich. Despite having long been with the club it looks like Alaba has his heart set on leaving Bayern Munich. Bayern has tried to negotiate a deal with Alaba.
The club has presented a good offer showing how much he’s worth to them. But still, Alaba has not really entertained the possibility which leads us to believe that he will leave Bayern Munich.
According to the Express, Bayern chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted he’s not confident about keeping hold of the Austrian, saying: “Bayern did everything we could to try and reach an agreement.“
“We had a lot of conversations, but we wanted answers from him by the end of October. This didn’t happen and I don’t know if we’ll return to the negotiations.” This might come as good news for both Chelsea and Real Madrid.
However, Chelsea has a slight advantage over Madrid. Real are asking Alaba to actually take a pay cut on his salary should he join the Los Blancos. While Chelsea has placed no such condition.
The signings Chelsea have made also puts them in a better light. Frank Lampard is building something special with the Blues and Alaba could be enticed to be a part of that. A lot will depend on how the season unfolds but both Madrid and Chelsea will be following every development in Alaba’s scenario.
