Chelsea face blow after Juventus decides to deal with Barcelona

Chelsea‘s summer transfer target Miralem Pjanic finally appears to be on the periphery to join La Liga giants Barcelona. The Juventus ace though is the first-team star but wants to move towards the new horizon and insisted on his exit. Barcelona will involve a three-man swap deal.

The summer transfer window though not any nearer but the clubs around are preparing for the transfer window earnestly. Chelsea is planning to have a busy transfer window. Frank Lampard is looking to overhaul his squad with a striker and a left-back. However, Chelsea will also welcome any of the midfielders if comes in a low budget or in a swap deal.

Juventus being afraid of facing the financial crisis due to global health emergency decided to neglect any big move this summer. Rather offload players or rely on swap deals. Chelsea’s Jorginho is targeted by Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri.

Chelsea had a long-standing interest in Milarem Pjanic. The arrival of the 30-year-old experienced Midfielder was possible and Jorginho would have headed for the reunion with former Chelsea manager. But the deal was scuppered by Barcelona.

However, the latest report suggests that Pjanic who Juventus wants to cash in this summer. He is also deemed as surplus in qualities at Turin and will move to Barcelona in a swap deal. Pjanic and Mattia De Sciglio will join Barca’s camp.

Few Benefits Barcelona will get from the three-player swap deal

Spanish publication Sport revealed that the pair is used as a bait to land Barcelona defender Nelson Semedo. Not only the experienced pair, but Juventus will also attach a good amount of £22million to sign Barcelona full-back Semedo. Along with this, it would help Barcelona to raise funds for their long term Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez. The striker has a price tag of £100million and Barcelona will utilize all the funds to make an easier and alluring approach for Martinez. The aim to bring the Argentinean striker is that he would become a long term replacement for Luis Suarez.

The Argentine international has bagged 16 goals this season. He has also developed a good partnership with Romelu Lukaku in heir firs season together.

Pjanic is on the verge of joining Barcelona. The experienced midfielder will provide the strength and depth to the midfield. It seems he will replace Vidal in Barcelona.

The complicated three-player swap reportedly took good hours of negotiations. Yet details of Semedo’s transfer to Turin still needs approval. Spanish report also revealed that the contract deal for Juventus pair is made. It just Semedo’s transfer agreement that is pending and needs to complete to make the deal work.

The play swap between Juventus and Barcelona is indeed a major blow to Chelsea’s plans in landing Pjanic. But it is also good news as the Blues can keep their favorite Jorginho.
