Chelsea will make an attempt to sign Inter Milan superstar Lautaro Martinez next summer. Since joining Inter Milan, Lautaro developed himself to be the main man in front of the goal and partnered with the likes of Icardi, Lukaku, and Edin Dzeko during this period.
Lautaro has become the symbolic player of Inzaghi’s Inter Milan. The Argentine has scored the most goals which are 7 in all competitions. His brilliant play against Barca made a 3-3 draw in the Champions League game, which was one of his best performances in recent times.
After a great win against Fiorentina, the manager praised: “I said when people asked about Lautaro Martinez not scoring in seven games that I was not worried, as he kept getting the chances and would break through eventually”.
After the game, Lautaro himself talked about his ambition. He told: “I’m fine, I’m happy here, I hope I can become a legend, I have a contract here and I only think about Inter.” He concluded his talk with the hopes of continuing like this at Inter.
Why Chelsea Has the Edge Over Other Clubs?
Many of the first-team players like Barella, Skriniar, Bastoni, and Dzeko are all linked with a move away. But Lautaro’s name is circling the transfer market for a long time.
After having a nightmarish stint at Chelsea, Romelu Lukaku has made a return to his beloved club, Inter this summer. Inter paid a loan fee of approximately €8 million, and the player also took a pay cut to seal his return to Italy.
But Chelsea is looking to split the partnership between Lautaro and Lukaku partnership. Inter is eager to sign Lukakau on a permanent deal. But they are not ready to spend big for the big Belgian.
However, Chelsea is very keen to sign Lautaro to solve their striker problem. Lautaro has the ability to lead the goal department. Chelsea is looking for a player of his stature.
The London blues may offer Lukaku any possible deal to bring Lautaro. Argentina’s star man is a proven goal scorer. Since joining the Italian side, he has registered 81 goals and 28 assists in his 197 appearances.
Inter is in no hurry of selling their prized asset as his contract will expire on 30th June of 2026. But if a suitable and mammoth offer comes in, Inter may change its mind.
Chelsea’s new owners are rebuilding the team by recruiting much younger players. Right now, Aubameyang is the only man who is upfront at goal. But his best years are gone. So, Chelsea is keen to add a much younger and more reliable striker upfront.
But they have to face competition from Manchester United, Newcastle, Tottenham, and above all Real Madrid as well.
