Chelsea has stalled Havertz deal to sign a defender. Frank wants a balanced team to fight for all available silverware next season. Although Chelsea has made the first bid for Rice, they do have other options if the deal falls. A left-back is also a place where Frank wants improvements but will only sign if either of the two players leave in summer.
