Chelsea Midfielder N’Golo Kante to Miss Qatar World Cup 2022

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is all set to miss the upcoming Qatar World Cup 2022 due to injury issues.

Since the start of his career, N’Golo Kante has been praised for his high work rate. Through the 90 minutes of every match, he never looks tired and brings energy to the game. And the French midfielder did that for a high part of his career without missing too many games.

But it seems like it is not the same case. Kante has been facing injury problems for the last few months. The midfielder suffered another injury when Chelsea faced Tottenham in this season’s English Premier League.

This injury kept him sidelined for the whole of September. Now he returned to training only a few days ago. Unfortunately, he suffered a relapse and is now out for a longer duration than before.

N’Golo Kante to miss the World Cup

Now Chelsea gaffer Graham Potter has finally confirmed that N’ Golo Kante’s injury has worsened. The seriousness of his injury will be known when Kante meets a consultant at the weekend.

“‘He’s due to see a consultant at the weekend. It’s a setback, it’s not good news, but I can’t give you anything more at this stage,” said Potter.

He further added that it’s a huge setback for the club and the player but Chelsea will try their best to bring him into full fitness so he can return back to his past form.

According to the Athletic, Kante will not be able to will return to his full fitness before the upcoming World Cup and will miss the perennial event.

This comes as a huge setback for the French national team. Kante is one of the most important players for Didier Deschamps’ side. he played a pivotal role in France’s Fifa World Cup 2018 winning campaign.

Now with Kante is sidelined, they will have think about his replacement in the centre of the park. Kante’s partner in the French midfield Paul Pogba is also out for a long time and is a huge doubt for the upcoming World Cup.

N’Golo Kante’s contract with Chelsea is coming to an end the next summer. He wants to continue at the London-based club and his agent has already told Chelsea about the terms.

But Looking at his recent injury problems, Chelsea have decided to reject Kante’s terms. Now, this new injury will only make things worse for the French superstar.
