Werner was one of the most promising strikers in Europe when he joined the London-based club from RB Leipzig in 2020. However, he struggled to live up to his potential, scoring just 10 goals in 56 league appearances for the Blues.
Werner is currently among the fringes at Stamford Bridge, starting just 15 games in the PL last term. According to football.london, the Blues are open to selling the Germany international transfer window.
However, the London outfit could struggle to offload him due to his wages. Werner currently earns £275,000 per week at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea news: Juventus exploring the possibility of signing Timo Werner
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Juventus are in discussions with Chelsea to sign Timo Werner.
Signing a new striker is among the top priorities for Juve in this transfer window. Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata is their top target in that regard, with Werner as an alternative if they fail in their pursuit of the Spain international.
Apart from Bianconeri, Newcastle United and RB Leipzig have also shown interest in signing the 26-year-old striker. However, selling him would be a gamble for the Blues as they are currently short of options in attack.
The London outfit had already loaned out Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan earlier this transfer window.
The Blues showing interest in Denzel Dumfries
According to a report by Gazzetta Dello Spor (via SportsWitness)t, the London-based club are interested in signing Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries. The Nerazzurri consider Dumfries as an important player although could entertain offers of close to €40 million.
Thomas Tuchel is looking to bolster his back line after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in this transfer window. Cesar Azipilicueta and Marcos Alonso have also been linked with a move away from the club.
The Londoners have signed Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli so far but they need more reinforcements going forward. Sevilla’s Jules Kounde was close to arriving at Stamford Bridge but Barcelona reportedly hijacked the deal this week.
Dumfries is among the most talented defender in Serie A and his arrival will be a massive boost for the Blues ahead of next season. He has played 33 league games for Inter since joining from PSV last summer, scoring five goals. The Dutch international helped the Milan-based club win the Coppa Italia and SuperCoppa Italiana last term.
