Roman Abramovich recently announced that he was leaving Chelsea after an association of 19 years. Owing to this the Russian is looking for possible buyers who would be willing to buy the club.
The Russian billionaire took this decision after being subjected to intense backlash. Abramovich is a close associate of Vladimir Putin. Hence he is also being blamed for reportedly funding his country’s attack on Ukraine.
Things became tougher for Chelsea soon after as the UK government placed sanctions on the club soon after. Owing to this, the Blues are unable to even sell tickets or club merchandise for now.

As per The Mirror, Thomas Tuchel has high expectations from whoever decides to buy Chelsea. Hence, the Blues’ manager made his feelings clear in a recent interview.
Potential owners have placed bids to take over the club from Thomas Tuchel. The bidding period has now closed and the bids that have been received will be shortlisted in the coming days.
Roman Abramovich had brought a golden era in the club’s history. Chelsea won multiple trophies including two Champions League titles under the Russian businessman. Hence there is uncertainty about how the next owner would manage the club.
Nevertheless, the Chelsea manager has placed his confidence in the new owners. Thomas Tuchel said, “If somebody buys a club for this kind of money, it’s about challenging at the highest level, winning, and being the best you can.”
The German manager added that Chelsea has a lot to offer both on and off the field. Owing to this the asking price to buy the club is so costly.
Roman Abramovich had reportedly demanded a hefty sum of around £3 billion from the potential bidders in order to sell the club. This is a massive profit for the Russian who purchased the club for around £140 million in 2003.
